Based in Seattle, Kent believes in storytelling to foster social justice.
Through his studies in Political Science and Law, Societies and Justice at the University of Washington, Kent analyzed systems of social stratification. He has engaged with the education field through multiple roles in student affairs at the University of Washington and an internship with Highline Public Schools. In both spaces, he explored support systems for first-generation students and underrepresented students of color. He further applied his studies in criminal justice through his work as a legal assistant for the Juvenile Parole Project and as a transcriber for the Making Amends podcast. Kent also participated in research, examining the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Throughout all his roles, he utilized storytelling to forefront marginalized voices. Kent hopes to continue his work in social justice in new and familiar areas through his role as an Associate Consultant in the Communications team.
In his free time, Kent enjoys caring for his numerous indoor plants, playing chess, and cooking new cuisines with his friends!
