During our long-term partnership with John Carroll University, we have been involved in shaping many aspects of the University’s fundraising program through two successful campaigns. In 2014, we were retained to conduct a mid-campaign assessment for a $100 million campaign to determine whether the University should raise its goal and on what timeline it should conclude the campaign.
In our work, we assessed the structure and progress of the campaign, analyzed the major gift pipeline and overall Advancement operation, and conducted an annual giving audit. We developed a plan for closing out the campaign and provided counsel on this final push, ensuring the effort could serve as a springboard for building the major gifts program for subsequent fundraising efforts.
The campaign concluded ahead of schedule and exceeded its goal by $4 million. After this successful campaign, JCU recognized the need to refocus on alumni engagement to cultivate the next generation of donors. To support this work, we are currently conducting an alumni engagement assessment. This work includes a broad-based alumni survey, individual conversations with engaged alumni, creation of metrics and an engagement score, and a benchmarking exercise.
