Liz MacDonell came to the nonprofit world as many of us do: She said Yes to volunteering. One yes led to another and soon she was hooked. Over the last 20+ years she has held a succession of development and senior leadership positions, all with a passionate focus on helping change and save lives.
Prior to joining Campbell & Company, Liz served as the Director of Advancement at Oregon Episcopal School, where she led two capital campaigns; oversaw fundraising, alumni relations, and marketing communications; and staffed the Board Governance Committee. She was previously Foundation Director at Randall Children’s Hospital, where she also led a major building campaign. She has also worked as a fundraising and executive search consultant and spent the first 10 years of her career in the college textbook publishing industry.
As a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®), Liz brings a wealth of experience and resources to her client partnerships, along with a zest for continuous learning, a coaching/mentoring approach, and always a sense of humor. She is a graduate of Phillips Academy (Andover) and holds an A.B. in English from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Education from the University of Illinois. She has served on and chaired several nonprofit boards, and is currently a member of the statewide Alaska Public Media (AKPM) Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Association Fundraising Professionals and Advisors in Philanthropy.
After nearly 30 years in Portland and an adventure-filled four years in Anchorage, AK, Liz now lives in Kirkland, WA.
